Let Us Build You A Little Piece of Paradise

There are many choices and aspects pond builders must discuss early on in the design process. Probably the most important decision is materials. We use only hand-troughed Gunite. It is concrete hand troweled over rebars (reinforced bars). The process is the same used for swimming pools; sturdy and long lasting.

We are custom pond builders - no kits! If the pond is prefabricated, there are no customization options available. We use a fresh design customized to the terrain, creating a natural and sturdy pool that needs no liner. Then we add boulders, aquatic life and a splash of colorful plants and maybe even Lilli pads and other aquatic plans that can thrive in our Arizona climate. Our customized designs closely mimic the natural environment.

As experienced pond builders, when possible we like to add color with exotic fish and plant life that thrives in Arizona’s warm climate. To some pond people, liners seem like a good idea. With liners as with gunite ponds, natural fish and plant life tend to do well.

• Koi are excellent fish to incorporate and require no heaters. Also, they may help minimize the mosquito and fly population and make great outdoor pets for kids.
• If you wish to have koi, plants should definitely be on your list. Plants serve as nature’s filter and absorb fish waste by converting it to plant food. They also provide much needed oxygen to your koi and protect them from predators with surface coverage.
• A wide variety of plants exist, but the majority fall into four basic groups: oxygenators, floaters, deep-water aquatics and vertical plants. Not to worry - we can help you select the right ones that will keep both you and your koi happy.
